1.
fire on the mountain wrestlin with wind and make it through the season then we both can watch it grow again protect the canyon folk when rivers rise and swell again when the road washes out we'll rebuild the bridge and cross again the summer brings the rain and then the rocks will fall come slidin down the side to the valley where we have built a home on our land all the seasons changing until our bones are aching faces aging like the canyon lines are getting deeper all the time but i don't mind
2.
boys & girls 05:40
beware of ugly boys and girls they may look pretty to you they will try and take you they will try and make you them and you will turn ugly you will turn take care with the dark clouds they will cover up the sun they will make you sleepy they will make you shut your eyes you will sleep suddenly you will sleep take care with your heart it can only beat so long it will leap from you it will make you run it will leave suddenly it will leave
3.
smoke screen 04:12
Where did i go i left the trail behind everyone disappeared in the smoke screen the fog rollin in why not try to jump the ridge and see the jumbled up clouds soakin all the mammals the lizards and their kin watch it all growin see it all die again i can fall in the sea a thousand fins will rescue me in the rain i can see little eyes wait for me 'tween two worlds i rest easy all of this i want you to see snow is drifting all on my feet a mountain of white is liftin me high above the valley into jet streams i'll tumble down into your town the ladies all a-flutter but the men all wonder am i angel or beast a scourge or release to help them be free
4.
we escaped the first wave but soon they will catch us we don't have the strength for a song all the things we wanted seem to vanish in mist we will not survive another day like this words of conquering songs are on their lips we will not survive another day like this the echos of cannons shots ripping the canyons fire jumping our thatched roofs we're lost the massive thud of footsteps like earthquakes they shake us we cannot hide our faces from theirs
5.
follow you can take the path down to the hollow tree that stands amongst the lace of the fog that hangs over all the words you always drop like dew leave me however soft and graceful and discreetly you climb over my restless form while i sleep and dream of times that won't ever be true but you can wander back, my foal and you can touch my face once more i'll go on and on like mines forgotten long ago by dirty men in overalls that climb back to the light when all the gold is gone swing low your chariot awaits so you can wave goodbye to buildings and the best friend in whom you confide who'll stay there for awhile
6.
i will sit in the forest wait for you to come to me you will run towards my screamin limbs tanglin in the trees oh i get by on my own oh i get nestled in my home oh i get by on my own while i wait for you to come home i will wait in my fortress stiff and silent as a spire i will see you and me in the fogs of the mornings i will wince when the blood flows from the wounds bestowed upon me i will stitch them with the strands of gold of your light blazing and free
7.
in which 03:32
in which you left the one you loved he won't see you when you fall won't be there to clean your knees when you crawl on the rocks when they're scraping you to bone in which I find myself alone and i throw away my phone and i'm cutting my electricity drain my tank of all its gasoline making bonfires of my magazines so i can be with myself in which we cling to those we love silly songs and shadow figurines shape visions of the in between the thing that we perceive to be and the thing that is in reality which we lost long ago in which you fall asleep and dream of the things we'll never be
8.
i don't want none of your charms and i won't take none of your barbs no, no i won't share none of your dreams i won't fix none of your schemes no, no cause no light is given now i have moved on eclipsed somehow by thoughts and hopes existing outside of me i won't dive into no past lives and i won't clear nobody's minds eye no, no cause there's a light that's given now i have moved on enriched somehow by thoughts and hopes existing inside of me
9.
"wait for the signals to come for me wait for the signals to come for me" eyes to the skies and dirty knees she will provide all i need "stake all your claims and follow me stake all your claims and follow me" sweeping search light eyes guiding me birds like paper glide and tumble freely "weigh down the ballast and sail to me weigh down the ballast and sail to me" the sound of her song will be my breeze the silk of her skin, my seven seas

about

tiny chariots Colorado Springs, Colorado

Dusty ballads for city folk.

Into Jet Streams is a collection of haunting and thoughtful acoustic tracks where confessional lyrics, finger-picked guitars, and heavy alt-rock all meet. Robbins combines the melodic sensibilities of Neil Young’s early years seamlessly with the grungy country of Uncle Tupelo, resulting in songs that are both perfect for a road trip or a Wes Anderson soundtrack. ... more
